How to add DNS records in GoDaddy

Edited

If your domain is registered with GoDaddy, follow the steps below to add the DNS records that Suppli provides during your custom email domain setup.

Before you start

Make sure you have the 5 DNS records from Suppli ready — we'll have sent these to you after registering your domain. You'll also need to be logged in to your GoDaddy account.

Steps

  1. Go to godaddy.com and sign in to your account.

  2. In the top-right menu, click your account name and select My Products.

  3. Find the domain you want to update, click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to it, and select Manage DNS.

  4. Scroll down to the Records section and click Add New Record.

  5. In the Type dropdown, select the record type (TXT, MX, or CNAME) as specified by Suppli.

  6. Fill in the Name (or Host) and Value (or Points To) fields using the values provided by Suppli.

  7. Leave the TTL as the default unless told otherwise.

  8. Click Save. If you're adding multiple records at once, you can click Add More Records before saving, then click Save All Records when done.

  9. Repeat for each of the 5 DNS records.

Once all records are added

Let Suppli know you've added all 5 records and we'll verify your domain. GoDaddy DNS changes typically take effect within an hour, though it can occasionally take up to 48 hours.

Troubleshooting

If you see a message that says "We can't display your DNS information because your nameservers aren't managed by us", your DNS is hosted elsewhere. This can happen if you're using a third-party DNS provider like Cloudflare. Check with your IT team to confirm where your DNS is managed, then follow the guide for that provider instead.

GoDaddy may require identity verification (via SMS or email code) for domains with Domain Protection enabled. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete verification before your changes are saved.
